About David Worley

Business:
1972 Started my own Investment Advisory business which eventually became Worley Securities.
1989 Voted Investment Advisor of the year for Australia by the industry magazine 'Money Management' (editor was David Koch)
Sport:
Played tennis all my life but in 1992,playing in Victorian Over 45's team, aggravated injuries to my shoulder and hip and was forced to quit tennis for good within 12 months.
Golf became the new passion and luckily I was already a member at Commonwealth Golf Club. Also a founder shareholder at Moonah Links and a member of Sorrento Golf Club. Current handicap is 11.

1995 Wrote and published - Bill Edgar - A Legend in Amateur Golf
1999 Wrote and published - Fairways in Heaven, Bunkers from Hell
(listed in The Age in March 2000 as the non-fiction no.8 Best Seller in Melb.
though only for sale in about 8 book stores.)
2007 Wrote and published, (July in Australia),- Journey through the Links.
In September Journey was published in the UK and USA
by Aurum Press in London.
Journey was voted book of the month in October 2007 Issue of
'UK Golf Monthly' and December 2007 was awarded Golf Book of the Year
by 'Sports Illustrated' in the USA -circulation 23 million.
2010 Wrote and published - Another Journey through the Links.
Released in August 2010 in Australia and late October through Aurum Press
In the UK and USA. Another Journey was the only golf book shortlisted in 2011 for the British Sports Book Awards.
2015 Wrote and published Golf in the Heather and Gorse
Travelled over 40.000 miles in hire cars in first six trips to UK and Ireland and have played nearly 300 courses there. Have played or walked every single 18 hole links course in UK and Ireland - 165 in total.
I am a member of the Senior Golfers Society of Victoria, the Australian Golf Writers Association and I am on the judging panel for The Golf Course Guide which reviews all public access courses in Australia.
